At Pikes Peak Paragliding we specialize in Hike & Fly paragliding. 

Our home flying site is Section 16 nestled in the foothills below Pikes Peak. Section 16 is part of a special piece of land called the Red Rock Canyon Open Space in the city of Colorado Springs. Red Rock Canyon is 447 acres of protected land which lies adjacent to National Forest property of Pikes Peak National Forest. Needless to say, we have spectacular views and flying just minutes away from downtown Colorado Springs.

Section 16 benefits from a unique micro-climate because it is protected by higher ridges and Pikes Peak to the West. This feature creates excellent flying conditions all-year-round. Extended thermal flights have even been experienced even in the middle of the Winter!

The Hike to the top is roughly 2 miles and 1500' of vertical gain from the parking lot along Lower Gold Camp Road. As avid hiking pilots, we are very selective of the gear we fly, and seek to outfit hike and fly pilots with products that offer the most performance, safety, and durability in a manageable package.
